KlangBang is a monthly improvised music series. It is an initiative organized by an international group of musicians based in Basel (CH).
The series started in November 2016 and since then it took place in the Projektraum of Flatterschafft. The new project room, WURM, was created in March 2019 in the 2nd underground floor of Flaterschafft. KlangBang offers a space for improvisers of all disciplines to present their work and create a network for collaborations. There have been playing musicians and artists from all over the Globe ( Belgium, Brazil, Canada, USA, Mexico, France, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Greece, Estonia, England, Spain, Argentina, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland and more…). KlangBang started as a financially self-dependent event which only received financial support through the donations of the audience.
Since 2019-2020 KlangBang is proud to be financially supported by Swisslos-Fonds Basel-Stadt & Christoph Merian Stiftung.
KlangBang collaborates with FIM Basel since January 2018, in order to bring together audiences and artists of this scene.
-If you would like to perform at a KlangBang concert, make sure that you send us some information about you including a couple of links with your music through the Contact form. We are planning the line-up of each concert quite a long time in advance (3 months – 1 year) and therefore we cannot respond positively to short-term requests. The dates of our concerts are fixed for each season, so check out the dates for 2019-2020 and tell us which date(s) would work for you.
